Hi there!  My name is Macho....or Macho Pico...or as my foster mom calls me, Macho Nacho Pico Paco....but that's a mouthful.  I am a five-year-old 5 pound black and white male chihuahua.  I am heartworm negative, up to date on all my shots, and will be neutered before adoption!  

 

I have had a bit of a rough go to the beginning of my life, but I am so excited for chapter two!  When the rescue found me, I was covered in fleas, some wounds, and was underweight.  I am all better, fixed up, and gaining weight daily!  You may have noticed my coat isn't the most luxurious - but it adds to my charm.  My foster mom said it reminds her of the velveteen rabbit.  I am just so loved that all my fur was loved off!  In reality, I have alopecia.  So, I may always be a little different than other dogs.  OR...it might actually grow back with love!  The cause is undetermined as alopecia can be from a variety of reasons (flea allergy, high stress, bad food, genetics, etc).  I'm a surprise, because only time and love will tell.  My coat does not need any extra care though, and the fur loss is not contagious.  I'm just different!

 

I will need a human that is very patient.  I do not growl or bite, but I do get nervous with new people and situations.  I need someone who is willing to go slow and show me that I can trust them and be my true self.  I don't give kisses out to just anyone, I need to know that I can love and trust you.  

 

I am a tiny little fragile guy who loves to wander around the house and be held.  I would do best in a home without very small children due to my size and skittish demeanor.  I don't mind dogs and get along with my foster brother and sisters, big and small.  It's unknown how I am with cats, but I don't think I'll mind them.  I even like watching the chickens and horses outside without a peep.  

 

I am a quiet, nervous little guy, but incredibly sweet.  I really, really, want my own person to love and dote on me.  Once you see my tiny little chocolate brown eyes, you will fall in love, I just know it!

 

I am not quite house broke yet, but I'm doing really good as long as I am kept on a routine!  I don't mark, but sometimes I forget to hold it and squat somewhere.  If let outside, I just do my business quick and then love to sit in the sun and take in the views.  I will come walking back over when I'm ready to be held some more.  Due to my nervous nature, I will need a secure fenced yard just in case something frightens me while I'm adventuring.

 

I am crate trained and have been sleeping in the crate at night so my foster mom can work on my house skills.  I sleep quietly through the night and will let out a few barks when I need to go potty.  Usually if my silly foster mom tries to sleep past 8 am.  But, I will potty and go quietly right back to sleep...I love sleep!  

 

I love car rides too!  I like to lay on my foster mom's lap and get pets in the sunshine or stand on the door and watch the world go by out the window.  Maybe we could be road trip buddies!?!   All the sights we could see!

 

My mom has been leaving the radio on for me when she's not home and I really enjoy musicals.  I think I was a sophisticated gentleman in my past life.  I think that's why I'm wearing a tuxedo coat now!  Maybe I just need a little top hat and cane.  Attending a Broadway musical might be out of the picture for me (or not??) but maybe we could watch some good musicals on TV together?  I would love to be your next cuddle companion.
