Foster Care
Foster parents are the single-most important group of volunteers for Tired Dog Rescue. It takes a strong heart to love a dog like your very own and then let him or her go to a forever home. And rescue dogs often require a lot of patience and special care. There are trips to the vet, medication to administer and bad habits to break. Nearly all dogs are scared and confused at first. Many have been terribly abused or neglected, and they behave that way. It is so rewarding to be part of the physical, mental and emotional healing of a dog who truly needs you. One of the strengths of TDR is its engaged network of board, volunteers and foster parents. No foster parent is alone. Through our private Facebook group, help, encouragement and advice is just a click away.
